Leadership Roles

Admin

Leads ArdaCraft and community

Responsibilities:

  • Defines and ensures the smooth running of the project
  • Will typically have a raft of other responsibilities not directly related to the Admin role i.e. leading regions of the map, creating terrain, etc.

Steward

Temporary deputy for the Admins

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the smooth running of the project in the Admins’ absence
  • Helping hand for planning and management

Project Roles

Overseer

Leads major regions on the server (i.e. Moria, Gondor, Rohan)

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates and engages with all ranks
  • Distribution of work and development
  • Sets styles (does their own research, and establishes style guides)
  • Provides building opportunities, mainly via delegation
  • Works with prospective Architects, Mentors and assesses Architect applications

Requirements:

  • Assumed when a person is established as an overall region lead
  • Being actively involved in most topics on the server

Architect

Has the proven ability to lead larger projects like villages/towns and areas

Responsibilities/Capabilities:

  • Has the knowledge and skills required to lay out projects i.e. villages, towns, and areas within a certain region
  • Can provide plots and give feedback on plots
  • Provides leadership assistance for the Overseers
  • Solid base knowledge of server tools (Axiom, Terrasniper, Worldedit)

Requirements:

Builders who are interested in Architect and who have taken on more of a leading role in projects can submit an Architect application. It is very unlikely that they will get the rank immediately. Rather, applying is the beginning of a longer process in which the Overseers train prospective Architects to become fully ready to take on larger projects.

[M] Builder

Mentors; Team members that guide Applicants and Apprentices through the application process

Responsibilities:

  • Replies and helps Applicants and Apprentices on Discord and on the server
  • Provides feedback

Capabilities:

  • Fully up-to-date on region(s) and style(s) they are a Mentor for
  • Active enough to reply to Applicants and Apprentices within a few days

Requirements:

  • Can either approach Overseers if interested or get approached by Overseers

[A] Builder

Team members that have access to Axiom and Terrasniper on the main map

Responsibility:

Reasonable use of the server tools

Requirements:

  • Trusted by senior team members
  • Having successfully led a project
  • Have been trained in how to use server tools

Builder

Full team members

Responsibilities:

  • Doing plots or taking on other tasks
  • Able to apply for and lead smaller projects i.e. homesteads, villages, halls

Requirements:

Successfully passing through the application system

Apprentice

Not yet full team members that have earned the ability to work on the main map

Responsibility:

Working on plots they can claim or tasks given to them by Mentors/Leads

Requirements:

Landscaper

Team members who take on larger landscaping and terraforming tasks

Requirements: 

A clear process will be established as the new map gets closer to being finished. For now, you cannot apply for the role. It will be given to experienced builders who are particularly interested in landscaping tasks.

Other Roles

Staff

Supporting hand for management, planning and projects

Responsibilities:

  • provides assistance in all server relevant areas
  • ensures the smooth running of project tasks and guides
  • communicates and works with all ranks

Requirements:

Not part of the building hierarchy, but must be actively involved (or well-versed) in all server relevant processes and regions.

Developer

Members of the Development Team

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing desired features
  • Updating and maintaining the existing mod pack
  • Fixing bugs

Texture Developer

Members of the Texture and Development Team

Responsibilities:

  • Producing new models for objects or mobs
  • Creating new and overhauling old textures for our ressource pack

Requirements:

Guide Developer

Members of the Guide and Development Team

Responsibilities:

  • Planning new player experiences and guides for the community
  • Being up to date with the server standards and its regions

Requirements:

Media

Members of the Media Team

Responsibilities:

  • Developing new ideas and concepts to enhance ArdaCraft's online presence

Requirements:

Event

Members of the Events Team

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing upcoming events
  • Developing new ideas and concepts for events

Requirements:

Approach the Events Team on our Discord.

Veteran

Previous team members who used to have a building role

Requirements:

Being inactive on the server for a prolonged time

Conlorer

Community members that help fill in the gaps in the lore

Responsibilities:

  • Developing histories and cultures for peoples not thoroughly described in the lore
  • Coming up with location names in Tolkien's languages

Exclusive tag in-game and on Discord

Requirements:
