Five things you can do on our server

What can I do on ArdaCraft? It’s a question we are asked quite often, and one you may be asking too. Here are five things you can do on our server, whatever your role or rank may be.

1. Explore Middle-earth

As you may know by now, we are building the largest ever replica of Tolkien’s world, and there really is a lot to see. If you like quaint villages and hamlets, surrounded by picturesque English scenery, check out the Shire. Maybe you prefer abandoned halls and caverns- explore Moria, the ancestral stronghold of the dwarves under Caradhras. Our striking natural features include the lofty peaks of the Misty and White mountains, the rolling plains of Rohan and the ancient forest of Fangorn. We have hundreds of locations you can visit, all built with attention to detail, historical accuracy and Tolkien’s legendarium in mind, which are all listed on the locations (link here) page of the website. Plus, the project is under active development, so each time you come back, the world is slightly more complete.

2. Follow the path of the Fellowship

So you’ve looked around a bit, seen all of your favourite places and want some direction: what do you do? With our new pathfinder tool, you can follow the path of Frodo Baggins (Merry, Aragorn and Bilbo’s paths are still being developed) as he carries the ring from Bag End to the fires of Mount Doom. Take in the vistas of Middle Earth as you listen to our OST, read some selected excerpts from the book and follow in the steps of the greatest journey in literature.

3.Build on your plot

Want to build but don’t want to be confined by the lore or the applications process? Anyone on our server can claim a plot. All you need to do is go to the plot world and use /plot claim to be granted a 200x200 block area that you have complete control over. In this plot you can build anything you want; it doesn’t have to be Tolkien related at all- if you look around the plot world we have castles, pixel art and mini games that people have made using our modpack. Some of the best builds we have are made by people who have never applied for builder using their plots.

4. Apply to join the team

Do you want to contribute to the project? Do you want to improve your skill at building in Minecraft? Maybe you think you’re better than us and want to prove a point? If so, ArdaCraft wants you! On the server we have an application system (which you can learn more about here) to ensure that everyone in the team is on the same page regarding their builds. Anyone can apply and all we require from applicants is motivation and a desire to learn and improve- I was an awful builder before I joined, but improved very quickly under the guidance of mentors and other builders. Do you have what it takes? Apply today!

5. Become a part of the community

What started out as a small group of friends is now a large and healthy community, all trying to achieve the same goal; finishing the project. Our Discord server always has people online to talk to, and we often host community events such as hide and seek, audiobook nights and movie nights. We always love welcoming new people, whether they are a part of the build team or not and are happy to answer any questions you might have- whilst you may not feel confident in your building skills, we are always on the lookout for talented researchers, artists and developers to help make the project truly special.  Being part of ArdaCraft has helped me find so many people I have stuff in common with, even if no one supports the same football team I do.
